Customer Requirements: The
Cecil County, Maryland official government
website was a framed static website which
was out of date and difficult to maintain.
Their requirement was for a user friendly,
professionally designed website which would
utilize a content management system for rapidly
publishing new information to the site.
Solution: A
completely redesigned website that incorporates
a content management system including workflows
and versioning. The new website features
a keyword search engine, calendars of meetings
and events, listings of county services,
and sections for news, public notices, and
press releases. The new site is easy to maintain
and allows content contributors to add, update,
and remove content from their site sections. |

Customer Requirements: Emergency
Medical Services Department was posting their
personnel schedule to the web using Excel
spreadsheets. This task was time consuming
and difficult to update. Schedules need to
be updated regularly and include information
about personnel leave, expected shift arrival
time, and be viewable weekly for 3 year periods.
Solution: A
database driven calendar with an editing
tool which requires little typing and allows
for the input of an entire week of data with
one form submittal. The calendar retains
information about when calendar updates last
occurred and provides for text "blurbs" to
be input when irregular information is required.
Department employees manage updates to the
calendar.
