Headline: CECIL COUNTY LAUNCHES IMPROVED WEBSITE

Elkton, MD, October 30, 2006 - The Cecil County Information Technology team launched a new and improved content management website for Cecil County Government.  The new web site features a keyword search engine, calendars of meetings and events, listings of county services, and sections for news, public notices, and press releases.  The site will provide improved access to the latest county information by permitting county departments to update their respective portions of the website on a daily basis through a word processor type of interface.

Information Technology Director Scott Mesneak said, "We are pleased to roll-out the new website. Designated departmental employees will ensure that content is up to date and obsolete information is removed in a timely fashion, while maintaining a standard look-and-feel."  President Nelson Bolender said, "We have been looking forward to this announcement and having the ability to provide current county information to our constituents through our website improvements." 

Cecil County Government contracted with the local-based Cattail Company (http://www.cattailcompany.com) to develop the system in 2005.  The new site will replace the "static" website that had been in place for the past several years.  Citizens can reach the website at the following URL: www.ccgov.org
